ABOUT KESMONDS INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY

Building Africa the African Way.

Kesmonds International University (KIU America) advances professional and personal development through practical, entrepreneurial, research-driven and flexible education.

Who We Are

Kesmonds International University (KIU America) was founded as a nonprofit, apolitical and private institution to advance the professional and personal ambitions of its students through a demanding yet supportive educational experience.

Our Story

In 2010, the university was operating as a non-governmental initiative aimed at helping students from less privileged communities obtain scholarships in developed countries and gain access to training facilities with advanced technologies and equipment that were not available in their communities.

The initiative was known as the Family of Extraordinary Students. It also provided remote training to students from different backgrounds and helped learners work toward professional certification.

In 2014, the organization was rebranded as Kesmonds Group Limited, a broader group of companies in which Kesmonds International University became the primary educational service.

From Distance Learning to a Multi-Mode University

During the early years of the university, the main mode of teaching and learning relied on open distance learning and electronic learning resources.

Over time, KIU expanded into several countries and developed a broader academic model combining on-campus learning, research-based learning, industrial and skills-based learning, experience-based learning, and continued distance learning supported by digital laboratories and simulation-based teaching methods.
